The Department of Education authored November as the Reading Month.In this connection,all public school elementary schools staged different activities in celebration of the culmination of the reading month.
Teofilo V. Fernandez Elementary School had several activities to improve the reading skills of the pupils.Apart from the daily drills and practice ,teachers from grades 1-6 conducts remedial instruction in reading.
The Teofilians started the activity with a holy mass in the hall,followed by a synchronized reading activities for all grade levels.The primary level had a storytelling activities using the provided bigbooks.Comprehension check and their output where written on a questionnaires and it was check and place to their portfolio for assessment.In the intermediate level the pupils are given the chance to do a reporting activities using the "broadcasting technique "then after that they are tasked to do either a story map or a scrapbook based on the story that has been discussed.
